Gongshan Ancestor has returned to the martial world, leading the disciples of the Demon Cult in an assault on the Central Plains. A thousand years ago, the Nine Immortals of the Central Plains joined forces to defeat him, but he escaped and vanished into the Demon Cave Mountain in the Western Regions, where he remained hidden for a millennium.
Now, most of the Nine Immortals have retired. Only the Black Iron Heavenly Venerable, Luo Caiyan, master of Lingyin Pavilion, and Bai Yulan, master of Baiyuan Sect, remain. Snow Fairy has withdrawn to the snowy mountains of the Western Sea, Empress Luoyanhong of the Xiang River has traveled far away to the Yunxiang Continent, and the rest have disappeared without a trace.
With Gongshan Ancestor's return, the people of the Central Plains are gripped by fear. The extraordinary Shui Ruyu bursts onto the scene. After a journey of twists and turns, hardship, and trials, she joins the heroes of the Central Plains to fight off the Black Demon Cult's invasion. Thus begins a century-spanning battle that will shake the martial world.
