After her kingdom falls, the heroine is forcibly taken into the palace by the hero. Believing him to be the enemy who killed her father, she keeps seeking revenge on him after entering the palace. She also discovers that she is a stand-in for the hero's empress. Later, the empress enters the palace and gets along peacefully with the heroine. The hero promises to take the heroine back to her hometown for a visit. Along the way, they discover that the empress's family is trafficking in illegal salt. The heroine sets a fire, intending for her and the hero to die together. In the end, her heart softens, and she still has someone save him. After they return to the palace, the empress's family is investigated. When the heroine learns the truth about her father's death, she suffers a miscarriage and is left utterly heartbroken.
