Northern Song Dynasty (Dynasty Dynasty)

From the time Zhao Kuangyin wore the yellow robe in 960 AD until the Jin army conquered Kaifeng in 1127, the Northern Song Dynasty existed in history for 168 years. The Northern Song Dynasty ended the half-century-long state of division and separatism in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, and entered its heyday in the 11th century. Economically, it ranks first in the world, with various economic models pioneering the trend of the generation. Cultural achievements have shone brightly. Six of the Eight Great Masters of Tang and Song Dynasties came from the Northern Song Dynasty. Song Ci poetry showed extremely high literary attainments and stood at the top of Tang poetry. However, the tradition of emphasizing civility over military affairs greatly reduced the combat effectiveness of the Northern Song Dynasty's army, and the threat of northern ethnic minorities was always difficult to eliminate.
