Transmigrated to the 1960s: The Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress Just Wants a Career

Transmigrating into a book + period setting + farming + alternate history

Ge Jiajia was on her way to work when she accidentally ate peanuts and “slept” her way back to the 1960s. She became Ge Jiabao, the cannon-fodder supporting character in The Rise of a Factory Director in the Sixties, written by her “rival in love.” In the story, Ge Jiabao schemes to find wives for the unmarried men in her production team by pairing them with educated urban youths.

Remembering how the heroine repeatedly slaps Ge Jiabao down before she ends up taking her whole family on a “trip” to a forest farm, Ge Jiajia narrows her eyes and puts her hands behind her back. Having received a canvas bag of high-quality seeds as compensation, she declares:

If you want a wife, first get rich yourself!

If you want a job, we’ll build our own factory!

If you want respect, get involved in the literacy campaign and learn to think!

I don’t care if you’re a commune member, an educated youth, or a big shot from the cowshed. Every one of you, get moving!

I’m going to grow new crops and fill the production team’s granaries to the brim!

I’m going to raise livestock scientifically and fatten everyone’s wallets!

I’m going to escape my cannon-fodder fate!

And I’m going to make the protagonists earn me some pocket money!
