Li Zongxi (1818~1884), named Yuting, was born in Kaixian County, Sichuan Province (now Kaizhou District, Chongqing City), and served as governor of Liangjiang. Throughout his life, he was honest and upright, worked diligently and loved the people, was loyal to the emperor and served the country, defended his land and resisted Japanese invaders, established schools and cultivated talents, and had an awe-inspiring righteousness. He was recorded in "Manuscripts of Qing History" and "Biographies of Qing History".
