This is a story about a woman's complicated journey of growth: her deep reflections on her family of origin; her honest experiences of love and marriage, both sweet and cruel; working hard yet feeling it all means nothing; and doing everything she can to become herself and claim her freedom, only to suffer one setback after another and see her faith shaken several times. In the end, she seems to have everything, yet feels nothing.
If I hadn't lived past thirty, I probably couldn't have written a single word, nor truly understood the life I had already lived. But fortunately, after turning thirty, I was able to tell this story and put my reflections into words.
I dedicate this work to women who feel disappointed and despairing in marriage and life, but keep on trying. Only those who have been through it know the pain, and in time, they will come to understand. I also dedicate it to young women who have yet to experience love, marriage, or the workplace. May you see love, marriage, and life for what they really are, seize the chance to make your choices wisely, find the right path, and become who you want to be. May all women break free from society's constraints and expectations and live lives that are uniquely their own.
Life is a very complicated thing. Your experience, personality, and the people you meet may all change your perception and your future direction. The author calmly talks about the complexity of reality. Women may not really grow up until much later. Some are in their twenties and some are in their thirties. Looking forward to the day when Zhixia truly matures. She will no longer doubt herself because she is not loved, she has the freedom she wants. Come on. Woman!
