The Female Supporting Character Refuses to Follow the Plot

[Updates at 6 p.m. every night. If there’s no update, I’ll post a leave notice. Updates resume on January 11; revisions needed.]

Content warnings:

1. The heroine is no saint. If you don’t like that, please drop the novel!

2. This is a melodramatic story. Please refrain from insults.

Synopsis:

Gu Yixin unexpectedly gains an ability: she can see floating comments above people’s heads.

That’s how she learns she’s the vicious supporting female character who causes trouble between the male and female leads in the middle and later parts of a novel.

In the end, the male lead and the female lead’s admirers kill her at Tianyong Pool, leaving her to die a horrible death.

She doesn’t want to meet the same ending foretold by the comments.

So, on the day the heroine enters Lan Cheng Hall, Gu Yixin makes a fake death escape, taking her sect’s cultivation manuals and fragments of forbidden arts with her.

To avoid a tragic ending, and to kill the so-called male and female leads and the heroine’s sycophants, Gu Yixin finds a quiet place and begins cultivating. Who would have thought she’d be haunted by a soul?

“Help me rebuild my body, and I’ll help you destroy Lan Cheng Hall. How does that sound?”

Following the hints in the comments, Gu Yixin nods and agrees.

[Oh my god!!! Isn’t Song Ruohuai the sect genius who became a pariah everyone wanted to beat up?]

[Wait... Song Ruohuai has been dead for hundreds of years, so how does he still have a soul?]

[...So, should I keep shipping my male and female leads?]

Gu Yixin: I want to be the number one cultivator in the world every day.

Song Ruohuai: Then I’ll be number two?

The male and female leads: If you want to outdo us, just say so!

The cultivation world: Could you two infamous troublemakers please get out of the cultivation world?
