A story that seems to be about seeking a “sword,” but is really about seeking the “Way.”
The Archmage Mel of Eire secretly commissions Hilde, a mysterious knight of mixed Eastern and Western heritage, to travel east in search of the Heavenly Sword of the Dao, hoping to use it against the Roman Church and its Templars, as well as the eastern Kingdom of Francia.
In this age, the nations of mainland Europe are all under the Roman Church’s control, and the people’s faith has already shifted toward the Church. Even the Archmage Mel cannot stop religious culture from spreading. What’s more, the Pope possesses seven European holy swords, while Eire’s own holy sword, Excalibur, has yet to be drawn from the stone.
After ten long years, Hilde finally returned to her homeland of Eire, bringing with them the secret of invincibility. But Mel was already gone, and the human paradise “Avalon,” of which the Archmage Mel had spoken, never came to pass...
