In the 1990s, Chen Xudong went from rural Hunan to a Guangdong electronics factory to drive screws, but was bullied by people in the same factory to collect protection fees. Chen Xudong resisted vigorously, and after accepting Xiao Ma Xiaoliu as his younger brother, he took advantage of the situation and established the "Xudong Society".
