Also known as Gospel: Grain Rain.
What life at a magic academy is really like: adventures, youthful romance, face-slapping, playing the fool to catch the tiger, defeating the mastermind, reaching the pinnacle of magic, and becoming a winner in life...
What life at a magic academy is supposedly like: bizarre creatures slaughtering everything in sight, all kinds of supernatural incidents and unsolved mysteries, cultivation, rescuing people, fighting monsters, and long, tedious dramatic scenes (crossed out)...
Tang Yun: There must be something wrong with my life at the magic academy.
Luca: I knew being an alchemist was a dead end. I'm done being an alchemist! (pulls out an AWM sniper rifle) This thing is way more useful than a wand!
Li Xi: Is there no place in this day and age for a traditional, gentle, and understanding heroine?
As the synopsis says, this isn't a strictly fantasy or xianxia story. At its heart, it's a hodgepodge of Chinese xianxia, Western magic, and tokusatsu, with some religious elements thrown in. The story takes its time to heat up, and the romance is light in the early chapters. In short, if you judge it by the characters' accomplishments, this is actually a wish-fulfillment novel (? ).
P.S. The protagonists grow over time, and everyone has flaws at the beginning. Couple: Luca Muller x Tang Yun, happy ending.
Li Xi is the hapless best friend and matchmaker, with no rivalry between women.
