There are two kinds of Cores of Destiny. The first is the Core of Strength, which enables one to cultivate the martial path, including sword, spear, and blade cultivation. The second is the Core of Illusion, which enables one to cultivate the arcane path, including disaster controllers, mechanics, formation masters, and painters.

On a remote border planet, an obscure young man unexpectedly awakens both cores, cultivating the arcane and martial paths together. He also has a scale on the back of his neck that grants him the power to transform into a dragon.
