This book gives people a very profound lightness. Very quiet, very gentle, very delicate, very contradictory. Fanny's experience and inner change process always remind people of herself, perhaps indifferent or gentle. After reading it in one breath, it is difficult to describe this feeling. It is a kind of inner and emotional resonance, which is rare. The descriptions of the scenery in the book are beautiful, and the descriptions of the inner monologues are painful. Although I am an outsider, I feel like I am participating in it. The story of Fanny and Alm made it difficult for me to get out, and it seeped into my thoughts like some kind of magic. Does choosing the cause and occasion of death really matter? Can choosing death really end suffering? Like bitter yet sweet candy, it coats my taste buds. It is never others who help you overcome hardships, but yourself who bravely survives.

However, underneath the calmness on the surface, there was unconscious sadness, loneliness, and confusion. During this period of time, Fanny experienced the bitterness of secret love, the pain of youth, and the hopelessness of life, which constituted her whole being. She has been looking for a sense of security and the person who can take her out. By chance, she meets Karen, a woman who has just moved to the town. The two develop a friendship and become the light that illuminates her life. And Alm, one of Fanny's few priests, gave her the courage to live, but ended his own life. Perhaps it was also a relief for him. His death also made Fanny realize that the help of others is limited after all, and the only one who can save herself is herself. This part really made me cry to death) This book does not have a complete story line, and the images of "nails", "stags", "badgers" and "forests" exactly reflect Fanny's mental state at that time, adding a mysterious color to the book. In our lives where we have fallen countless times, the people who give us kindness and strength in our difficulties are ourselves who have never compromised on life.

So did Alm commit suicide because of those two books, one was a story of failure and the other was that he had never been to where he wanted to go and that going to heaven would be a relief? He gave Fanny the two books in the hope that she could understand him, but he just didn't want to live like this anymore. He couldn't say it out loud. Even though Fanny, who was lying in the cold ground that day and wanted to commit suicide, stood up, hugged Fanny and took Fanny for a ride, he still didn't say it out loud, nor did he give up on his decision. The so-called salvation is just an illusion. Every moment when you want to give up, living requires courage again and again. Is Karen's appearance really an accident? There was a dream in which Fanny took the dead Alm to watch the sunrise in the forest. Some people don't understand why Karen's parents and others are never mentioned...

The language of this book is very quiet. I repeatedly thought about what this familiar feeling was called, until I saw the short story between the scenes, ah, it turns out, it is the sense of déjà vu called a movie. Every word and every picture presented a clear picture in front of my eyes. It was almost impossible to say anything to blame or criticize. It was too close and as quiet as snow. Reminds me of Manchester by the Sea but something is different. The style is a bit similar. If I knew the most basic geography, I would probably say that they should be in the same geographical location, so that the style of the books would be the same, but I don't know, or even, that this perception is the same or similar because I have seen too few works. If Manchester by the Sea is correct, I may have seen more Nordic films, but I don't remember, and if I'm wrong, that's probably some kind of punishment. I have only read this one Norwegian book. It was wonderful, very quiet, and very peaceful. I remembered that I had a sentence that I had not said yet, and I had to say it. Then, the last sentence, although it was very childish, but I made the right bet. I found the book based on my feeling. It was perfect this time.

There are scattered sad emotions, and I rarely feel the love of life that the author wants to express. It may also be related to translation. What can be felt is that Fanny is escaping from sadness and experiencing life in the progressive tense and future fantasy.

We must love everything so that we do not forget or overlook anything, even the smallest thing.

I can be considered a person with the same mentality as Fanny. I don't care about the surroundings and just want to keep my head down. Of course, I am timid and suspicious of the world. This book is not thrilling. It is very plain, but the emotions are expressed very well. After reading one chapter, I want to continue reading the next chapter. Unknowingly, I have changed my mentality with Fanny. After reading it, I am willing to raise my head and walk outside.

In a world of one person, there is no family anymore. People around her always treated her with understanding and offered help, which made her suffer even more. Everyone thought she was very sad and she didn't know what she could do. Fear of being understood, fear of not being understood, showing anxiety, and injuries on hands, as if they were self-destructive. A new beginning requires new goals, the lack of emotion needs to be made up for, and you must go on while you are alive, even if you are alone.

Reality, description and portrayal of dreamlike reality

I really like the Norwegian forests, although the winter is so cold, which makes people have many pessimistic thoughts.

A story told in a detached hallucination. No matter how I interpret the ending and repeat the previous chapters, I still feel that it is neither good nor bad. But I really like this writing style.

The story revolves around Fanny, who has lost her parents, and is expressed with exquisite detail. The article is narrated in the first and third person, which can relax your mood.
