Mysterious Lotus Casebook: Still an Old Friend

I'm a beginner, so friendly advice is welcome (grins maniacally).

Lin Xiaotang had always been Li Xiangyi's friend. They grew up together, then went on to become famous throughout the land together. Lin Xiaotang had known Li Xiangyi for over ten years.

Li Xiangyi once invited Lin Xiaotang, "Would you like to join my Sigu Men?"

Lin Xiaotang refused. "No. You're Li Xiangyi, the best under heaven, and I'm Lin Xiaotang, the best divine physician under heaven. If the day comes when you're at death's door, come find me!"

Everyone in the martial world knew how weighty that promise was.

Li Xiangyi simply burst out laughing. "I'm Li Xiangyi, the best under heaven. You'll never live to see that day."

Later came the Battle of the East Sea. Li Xiangyi fought the Jinyuan Alliance alone, and Sigu Men failed to keep their appointment.

At the critical moment, with life and death hanging in the balance, Lin Xiaotang came to help in a small boat. But an accident happened, and all three ended up falling into the sea. From then on, Di Feisheng and Li Xiangyi both vanished.

Later still, Lin Xiaotang found Li Xiangyi, deathly pale, washed up on the shore. Lin Xiaotang cared for him until he woke, only to find the bed empty. Without changing expression, Lin Xiaotang smashed the bowl.

Over the next ten years, Lin Xiaotang finally caught a certain patient who kept wandering off, violently dislocated his jaw, and poured the antidote into his stomach, all while smiling as Lin Xiaotang said:

Happy? Now you can live to a ripe old age.

Li Xiangxian stood nearby, chuckling quietly.
