Chen Xingcan looked back on her youth countless times. Thorns littered the road, snapping many branches and leaving two flowers wilted, with another barely clinging to life. And when she looked at her own blossom, it was withered too. It all seemed terribly bleak.
It all began on a dark, windy night. Back then, she was full of confidence, but she saved someone she shouldn't have. That person repaid her kindness with betrayal and indirectly harmed her friend.
After losing her memory, she transferred to No. 7 Middle School. The first person she noticed was someone strange named Lin Mo. Some said Lin Mo had harmed someone; others said she had nearly killed someone. Chen Xingcan didn't believe them, because Lin Mo stood up for her. She was just a little contradictory and aloof. Later, Chen Xingcan realized that contradiction came from Lin Mo having forgotten her, so she believed the rumors even less. One day, they would be exposed for what they were.
Later, Chen Xingcan discovered that Lin Mo had never killed anyone, but was always thinking about killing someone. The person she wanted to kill was Lin Mo herself, or rather, Lin Moran: the timid, insecure version of herself. Lin Mo couldn't bring herself to kill Lin Mo, because Chen Xingcan threatened to kill herself. She also wanted to kill a black-robed figure who pretended to be a ghost. Despite Chen Xingcan's desperate efforts to stop her, that knife still came down.
Chen Xingcan had stood up for people so many times, yet never truly saved any of them. Then, in the autumn when she was twenty-four, she finally took that knife for Lin Mo. But Chen Xingcan knew that if she died, it would be just as bad as never having saved her at all... Yet she survived. At twenty-five, she held Lin Mo's hand and looked back at the thorny road, feeling that she had lost so much, including herself.
It's nice to read, the author's writing is pretty good, but some parts of the plot are a bit confusing
Don't be, I beg you, the author is great!
It's quite beautiful, slightly tortured\(//∇//)\mutual pulling
