Mingshu transmigrates into the world of tomb raiding with a System. She’s been watching too many clips from the recently released Nine Gates series at home, and now she’s thinking, “Whoa... Fourth Master is at his absolute peak right now!”
The System takes that to mean she likes him and sends her straight to the era when Fourth Master slaughtered Huang Kui.
Mingshu, in tears: “I was just saying that online! Look, you actually took me seriously (¯, ¯٥)”
System, clasping its hands: “I didn’t knowww~”
From the start, she runs into Chen Pi, a boy who’ll kill for a hundred coins. Mingshu has no choice but to take the plunge. She makes one part of her affection look like five, and three parts look like eight.
Mingshu: “I’m greedy by nature. If I can give someone a little affection and get them to focus their whole heart and soul on me, that’s a bargain.”
Chen Pi, showing off: “She treats me so well. She saved me, cares for me, and raised me. She loves me!”
Chen Pi, after learning what she’s really like, scoffs: “I don’t care how genuine her feelings for me are. I know she truly saved me, truly brought me out of the Huang Kui Gang all by herself, truly raised me, truly gave me the confidence to stand tall, and truly made everyone know that I, Chen Pi, am the eldest young master of the Ming family. What the hell does sincerity matter? I only believe in what I’ve gotten and experienced for myself.”
Chen Pi turns to Zhang Qiling, who’s lazily reclining in the courtyard, and asks, “Zhang Qiling, don’t you think Mingshu is the best?”
Zhang Qiling comes back to himself from his absorbed reverie. He gently pokes the little chick playing on him and Chen Pi’s pet squirrel, then nods earnestly. Mingshu brought him out and took care of him, helping him set down his burdens. Mingshu is good. Chen Pi takes him out to play every day, buys him tasty treats, and lets him play with the squirrel. Tangerine Peel is good too.
The writing is a bit magical, and a lot of modern things have been added. The camera Chen Pi had when he was young was very big and heavy and not so portable, and Chen Pi may not necessarily know what a camera is. Overall, the characters of the Nine Gates written in it are quite out of character, and the details are not well laid out.
I read the author from Mu Xing's book, that one was very good and this one must be very good. (If you want to do it, be the first person to review a book)
