Shan Ling: The Emerald Peaks of Floating Mists

In the vast universe, there is a world called Xia Lan, but it is far from peaceful. The world is divided into two parts: Yin and Yang. The Yang side is protected by the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise, and humanity lives there in peace. The Yin side is occupied by the Four Fiends, led by Hundun, Taotie, Taowu, and Qiongqi. Seeking to expand their territory and increase their power, the Four Fiends launch a direct assault on the Yang side. The Four Sacred Beasts fight desperately to protect the life there, and the drawn-out war lasts for thousands of years. Yet a strict division between Yin and Yang is unstable, and the millennia of war bring the entire world to the brink of collapse. To maintain the balance between Yin and Yang, the Azure Dragon is forced to go to the Yin side. It also sends the weakest of the Four Fiends, Qiongqi, to the Yang side, then destroys the passage connecting the two realms. As Yin and Yang return to balance, the world gradually stabilizes. But the small measure of balance on the Yang side is shattered when the Azure Dragon disappears. Once the Yang side has stabilized, the other three Sacred Beasts also fall into slumber. Before doing so, to prevent Qiongqi from wreaking havoc in the world, they use their divine powers to bless anyone with noble qualities such as integrity, courage, kindness, and perseverance, granting them the ability to wield the power of heaven and earth.
