The Guy Next Door Made a Comeback

[Two male leads + sweet romance + comedy: a timid, flirtatious beauty “Master” vs. a reserved, scheming “Er Gouzi”]

Zhu Ren has always been grateful to his parents for giving him such a good name.

His neighbor Er Gouzi wasn't so lucky.

Since their families were neighbors, both sets of parents readily agreed on a cute, easy-to-raise nickname, “Er Gouzi.” His formal name was chosen as a pun: Er Gouzi.

As a child, Er Gouzi was short and dark, so Zhu Ren often teased him, calling him “the master's little dog.” After getting sulky a few times, Er Gouzi stopped caring.

Before long, Zhu Ren went abroad to study. More than ten years passed.

The old family home in the countryside had been empty for a long time, so Zhu Ren brought his younger sister back to the village to paint and escape the summer heat.

The gate to the neighboring house was locked tight. Its former occupants must have moved away, and no one lived there now.

But the fruit on the tall plum tree looked incredibly tempting.

He climbed over the wall to pick some plums, then slipped after stepping on his shoelace.

He braced himself for a broken leg, but instead landed in a sturdy embrace.

Whoa! He looked up and saw a handsome man with thick brows and striking eyes. Where had this cool, abstinent type come from?

Zhu Ren, usually all smiles and teasing, suddenly turned shy and proper. “Hi... handsome. Are you here to steal plums too?”

“Steal?” The handsome man's voice was magnetic.

Zhu Ren's heart began to race. “A handsome guy like you wouldn't steal. You should just sit back and relax. I'll pick some for you.”

That night, he got caught sneaking a peek at the great physique of the man in the window across the way.

His new neighbor could play the piano, cook wonderfully, and had a fantastic body. A proper jade-like gentleman.

After mooching meals from him several times, Zhu Ren quietly fell for him. Only later did he learn that he was Er Gouzi, his childhood tagalong.

Good grief!

When did Er Gouzi turn into a rich, handsome man?
