[Mutual Devotion] [Healing Each Other] [Both Pure] [Six-Year Age Gap]
Synopsis:
After Zhou Shiyue's parents die in an accident when she is young, her older sister raises her. When Shiyue is fifteen, her sister fakes her own death and entrusts Shiyue's guardianship to her best friend of many years.
After several changes of home, Zhou Shiyue is taken in and cared for by her guardian's younger brother.
The moment Song Nianchen sees her, he recognizes the little girl who once gave him candy. Zhou Shiyue doesn't remember him at all.
At first, Song Nianchuan solemnly swears to his friend that he is looking after her to repay the kindness she showed him when she saved him during his miserable childhood. It's a debt of gratitude.
With his care, the girl stops shrinking back in fear and returns to the lively, bold child she once was. She can be a little willful and loves to be pampered, but she always knows where to draw the line.
Before the college entrance exams, Zhou Shiyue gives him a heads-up, hoping to stay by his side: "Brother, if my final results aren't that good, will I still be your precious girl?"
"No matter how things turn out, you'll always be the precious girl of this family."
When it comes time to submit college applications, some are happy and others worried. Zhou Shiyue happily applies to a local university.
It doesn't take long for the truth to come out.
In the study, the girl cries, "You promised you wouldn't punish me! How can you spank me?"
After Zhou Shiyue starts university, he is happy to witness her growing up, but also reproaches himself for failing to stay true to his original intentions.
There are sweet moments and angst in this story, though only a little angst, if it even counts.
They both communicate and explain themselves.
They both consider each other's feelings.
