[Period setting, reborn, heroine pursues hero, alternate history]
In the 1980s, Qiao Nian should have had a bright future. Her father was a factory director, and her mother had a secure state job. But somehow, she ended up with the role of a spoiled, troublemaking supporting character.
Her military officer fiancé dumped her, and the heroine’s childhood sweetheart wiped out her entire family…
Reborn into a new life, she trembles at the fate she knows awaits her and decides to win over Pei Zhuo, the person who will pose the greatest threat to her in the future: the original heroine’s childhood sweetheart!
At the time, Pei Zhuo is still in the countryside, rolling up his trouser legs to work in the mud.
At twenty-five, Pei Zhuo has elders to care for and children to feed. He works alone, yet his whole family… still can’t get enough to eat.
Standing on the field ridge, Qiao Nian gazes curiously at the future tycoon. She can’t understand how he’ll climb from the bottom to the top.
She flirts with him, all the while looking down on him.
Pei Zhuo is taciturn, with dark eyes that seem to see right through people. Whenever Qiao Nian talks to him, she gets a chill down her spine.
Still, at least Pei Zhuo has feelings for her at this point…
Just as Qiao Nian is congratulating herself, convinced that her family’s tragic future is about to change,
she wakes up back in the original story…
Oops! Qiao Nian celebrated too soon. The Black Envoy tells her that her rebirth has broken the story, and only one timeline is allowed to exist in the book.
Now the Qiao family has fallen on hard times. Her mother is about to be laid off, while her father’s textile factory has gone bankrupt and owes its workers six months of wages…
The worst part is that Pei Zhuo is no longer the Pei Zhuo who used to indulge her in everything. He’s gotten involved with the heroine, Lin Yiyao!
“Boss Pei, if I told you that Lin Yiyao used to deliberately provoke me, and that’s why I bullied her, would you believe me?”
“You never learn!”
Qiao Nian: …
It's still good, but it's a bit unsightly.
I think it's okay. The heroine is very good. She will risk her own life for her family. The relationship between her and the male protagonist is also quite touching.
I really like the character of the male protagonist!!!
