A ruthless, domineering, scheming general and a vengeful, cunning, tyrannical princess
(The whole story boils down to this: she runs, he chases, and she can't get away.)
When an imperial edict arrived, the whole capital's most despised domineering general and the tyrannical princess feared by all the young noblemen were bound together.
To keep her by his side, Shen Shu stopped at nothing.
In secret, he asked the emperor for a marriage decree.
He planted a love-cursing insect in her and hid her mother away.
He schemed and plotted until she could belong to him alone.
One day, a woman called out, "Jiang Shu," and his memories came flooding back.
That night of endless rain, the scene as dreamlike as it was real.
Her eyes, like autumn waters, shimmered with tears. Her nose was flushed, doing little to hide her beauty, and her rosy lips pouted ever so slightly.
A fire seemed to blaze in his mind. All he wanted was to torment and humiliate her.
Now, torn by countless conflicting feelings, he didn't dare admit who he was and deliberately avoided her gaze.
With Shen Shu controlling her at every turn, Song Yu hated him and resented him, trying every way she could think of to kill him.
One day, she heard him call someone "A Yao" and panicked.
She remembered the past, beneath the rain on that night.
The cinnabar mole at the corner of the young man's eye was vivid red, dampened by sweat trickling down from his temple. In the candlelight, it shimmered beautifully.
(The foreshadowing at the beginning is rather lengthy, but everything will be explained in due course. Please bear with us and keep reading.)
