An accident.
Qin Tanxing became pregnant with Sheng Huaijin’s child and impulsively married him.
But after they registered their marriage, they became husband and wife in name only, living separate lives and never seeing each other.
By day, she was an employee at Sheng Huaijin’s company. By night, she was his neighbor. On weekends, she was his grandfather’s caregiver.
Sheng Huaijin was convinced Qin Tanxing was going out of her way to get close to him. He looked down on her cheap tricks. “The kind of woman I hate most is one who schemes to get close to me.”
Qin Tanxing was completely baffled.
But whenever Qin Tanxing smiled at another man, he grew restless and furious with embarrassment, pinning him into a corner. “Qin Tanxing, is this how you pursue me? Don’t you have even a little perseverance?”
Qin Tanxing gave him a classic “What on earth?” look.
She thought Sheng Huaijin must have something wrong with his head. So she quit her job and ran off with the baby.
Three years later.
When Sheng Huaijin saw Qin Tanxing show up with a child who looked exactly like him, he stared at her with red-rimmed eyes. “Qin Tanxing, you’ve had my child. You have to take responsibility for me.”
Qin Tanxing snapped back, “Who are you? Why should I take responsibility for you?!”
Soon, everyone knew that Qin Tanxing had run off with her child, abandoned her husband, and refused to take responsibility.
