In the year 3050, the universe entered an age of activity. Local monsters and space monsters began to stir, wreaking havoc across planets. Ultraman struggled to respond to disasters on worlds throughout the universe. To protect the planets, Ultraman combined a portion of his power with the power of each planet and bestowed it upon suitable human hosts. By summoning their own doubles, they could mitigate the large-scale disasters caused by monsters.
During an opportunity that had been planned for a long time, Watanabe gained power that was never meant to be his and became Ultraman, setting out on his path of resistance.
