More than two hundred years ago, a blood-red sky screen descended over Blue Star. The moon that belonged to humanity was stained a terrifying crimson. Every night, it hung high above, injecting bloodthirsty genes into the monsters prowling beneath the darkness.

The five great demon kinds, Scale, Shadow, Nightmare, Wing, and Blood, opened their gaping maws, destroyed human cities, seized vast stretches of land and sea, and devoured everything in their domain!

Civilization withered, territories fell, and humanity was driven to the brink of extinction.

Just as everyone fell into despair, a World Tree brimming with sacred spiritual power grew high into the sky. After sweeping the demon clans from vast swaths of land, it sank into a deep slumber. Before falling asleep, it scattered its spiritual power across all of Blue Star, allowing humans to sense the World Tree through its fallen branches, awaken their spirituality, touch the Sequences, and become transcendent!

With their newfound powers, humanity rallied and built city after city, waging countless battles against the demon clans.

Their enemies were vicious, hideous, and terrifying. Yet every human believed that when towering buildings once again stood across Blue Star, never to fall, it would be time to strike back at the demon clans and reclaim the world!

My name is Lin Jue. I'm a failure who botched my awakening and formed a pact with a battered old saber.

Without powerful Sequence abilities, am I doomed to cower behind others and scrape by? Do I have to watch helplessly as the people around me are chewed to pieces by terrifying demons?
