Robert McKee's fictional art trilogy includes "Story: The Principles of Material, Structure, Style, and Screen Scripting" (2001, new edition 2014), and "Dialogue: The Art of Speech Performance in Text, Stage, and Screen" (2018). Until the latest work "Characters: The Art of Text, Stage, Screen Scripting, and Cast Design" was published in October 2022, the trilogy is completed, and McKee's film theoretical universe is also complete.
