Escape from the Madhouse

The story follows a group of people diagnosed with mental illness who imagine they can escape the asylum. They see the world and everything in it through a fantastical, bizarre, twisted, comical, and witty lens. The entire novel portrays the many faces of life in the asylum, along with the warmth and coldness of human nature. In today's rapidly developing society, mental illness and psychological problems have always been matters of great concern. Whether these patients possess extraordinary imaginations and are "geniuses" or mentally ill, their strange thoughts and perceptions of the world will make you laugh through your tears.

The protagonist comes up with countless ways to escape the asylum, bringing her fellow patients along. Some imagine the asylum as a castle where zombies have risen from the dead, and believe they must escape this dark empire to reach the light. Others imagine it as a ghost town in the Republican era, bombed into ruins. Still others picture aliens invading the asylum to rescue them, and so on... It is only on the day they are discharged, when their families come to collect them, that they suddenly realize they had been dreaming in the asylum. There is no need to escape. It was all a game in their minds, and they had simply become hopelessly lost in the game they created. The novel is deeply concerned with humanity. These patients are a marginalized group, so why are they misunderstood and viewed with prejudice? Could the world seen through the eyes of people with mental illness be a little simpler and purer?
