In her previous life, Jiang Shuwan was forced by an imperial decree to enter the prince's residence as a concubine, where she was to marry Lu Yu and bring him good fortune as he lay dying. Her mother had controlled her harshly throughout her childhood, and after she came to the capital, her father treated her with cold dislike. She became indifferent to everything except her maternal grandparents' family.
