Wang Lan was born in the ancient city of Shouchun and had a happy childhood. His father was a veteran of the War to Resist U. S. Aggression and Aid Korea.
Wang Lan failed the college entrance examination and went to the provincial capital to attend college at her own expense with her good friend Yang Mei. After graduation, Wang Lan stayed in the provincial capital alone to work hard, and later married An Dazhi and had children. When she was forty, her mother fell ill and died, and Wang Lan felt the pain of farewell. In the following years, Wang Lan was devastated when her father, in-laws, second brother and third sister-in-law passed away one after another.

During this period, her husband An Dazhi cheated on his good friend Yang Mei, and Wang Lan angrily divorced her. Hou'an Dazhi was imprisoned for corruption and bribery.
In 2020, Wang Lan encountered the COVID-19 epidemic alone in Beijing. In the fear of death, Wang Lan was almost crazy, and fifty years of values were subverted. After self-salvation, Wang Lan regained her life and understood that love and hope are the light that illuminates the dark moments of life and are the power that helps people escape from difficulties.
