This book looks sad I was confused. I thought the protagonist was trained as a recruit and then a special forces soldier. What do I think? I'm confused. What is his military rank?

The whole book feels so confusing. One moment the protagonist is here, another moment he goes somewhere, and the next moment he suddenly goes on a mission. There is no timeline at all.
