A young man who had lived on Earth for twenty-five years and loved machinery and mechanisms.
He accidentally transmigrated to a world much like Earth.
An old madman took him in and taught him the Illustrated Compendium of Ingenious Creations. After six months of study, the madman suddenly said he had to leave for a while. He never came back.
When the young man turned eighteen, two people suddenly came looking for Mu Bai, setting him on an adventurous quest to find the old man. Along the way, he discovered that this world was utterly unlike the one he had imagined. It even held secrets about the Ancient Gods.
