A super-sandstorm swept across the globe, blotting out the sun and crippling every system. Amid the ruins of the city, urban planner Lin Wan uncovered the secret her father had left behind: the deeply buried “Deep Blue Project” was no ordinary civil defense scheme, but a plan to preserve the sparks of civilization for ten thousand years.
As her struggle to survive continued, she joined forces with geologist Lu Chen, doctor Su Yu, special forces soldier Chen Zhigang, and others. Together, they gradually uncovered a shocking truth: the disaster was no natural calamity. It was a purge launched by an organization called “Purifying Fire” to “optimize humanity.” More astonishing still, they discovered that an ancient network formed by seven ruins around the world was waiting for the “right key” to activate it, and Lin Wan’s bloodline was that very key.
With seventy-two hours left on the countdown, the team split up to act: power struggles in a military fortress, a genetic mutation crisis at a medical station, ancient ruins deep in the desert, and a consciousness network linking survivors around the world... Meanwhile, an ancient being sealed beneath the earth was quietly awakening.
