Zhou Yi is transported into the newly launched beta of the otome game Record of Floating Lives, becoming its vicious supporting female character. Faced with a clichéd plot riddled with bugs and a troublesome mission to win over the characters, Zhou Yi decides to give up.
“System, I can’t help you.”
And so Zhou Yi becomes an ordinary person.
Qi Chi, a villain and one of the male leads, is reborn because of a bug in the game world. After dying in the beta storyline, he sees Zhou Yi again, the very person who had caused his death.
Qi Chi approaches Zhou Yi for his own purposes, expecting her to fall into his trap step by step. He never expects to be the one who falls into the snare first, or the first to lose his heart.
“A Yi, I want you to save me.”
“Qi Chi, I haven’t fallen for you.”
Qi Chi looks at the smiling woman before him and says nothing.
“So you shouldn’t have either,” Zhou Yi says with a smile.
“Qi Chi, I hope you stay healthy and safe, free from the world’s constraints, and live as you please.”
As the world falls apart, Zhou Yi cannot escape the fate of a vicious supporting character. Qi Chi watches helplessly as she dies before his eyes.
His faith vanishes with her.
