Song Jian transmigrates into the original wife and mistress of the household, who dies a tragic death in The Marquis's Beloved Darling.
In the book, Marquis Changde Lin Yiyuan dotes on his concubine and abuses his wife. He carries on a secret affair with his cousin Wang Ke'er, and she becomes pregnant. To make the child in Wang Ke'er's belly a legitimate heir, the scoundrel and his mistress scheme together, framing Song Jian for infidelity so he can divorce her. Then, fearing she might expose them, they poison her to death!
After transmigrating, Song Jian rolls up her sleeves.
Dare to plot against her? She slaps you right back!
Dare to poison her? She'll send you to the next world with a bowl of poison!
Dote on a concubine and abuse your wife? She'll submit a formal complaint straight to the Emperor!
Prince Jing, Chu Hengshuo, is disciplined, courteous, and every inch the gentleman. He has never met a marquis's wife as unconventional and seemingly deranged as her.
