I Pass the Civil Service Exam After Death and Become the God of Wealth

[Absurd comedy + No CP] A silly, fun story. Cover art courtesy of reader @Jun Zhu Ya!! Caibao was a senior in college about to graduate when she died heroically while helping someone in danger. After death, she arrived in the legendary underworld. Looking at the elevators, trains, skyscrapers, neon lights, and other modern amenities, she hadn’t even had time to wonder, “Isn’t the underworld a little too modern?” At the registration office, she got one piece of good news and one piece of bad news. The good news: thanks to her many good deeds in life, her next life would be a good one. The bad news: due to the declining birth rate, she’d have to wait a thousand years in line. With no other choice, Caibao decided to take the civil service exam for the Celestial Court. After countless trials and tribulations, she narrowly passed and secured a position. She thought she’d finally enjoy a stable life with a permanent job, sipping tea and reading the newspaper. Instead, she was assigned to the busiest department in the modern era: the Hall of the God of Wealth. The Hall of the God of Wealth used to have a stable, adequate staff. But modern young people’s thinking was so unconventional that the workload skyrocketed. They had no choice but to hire more people and change how things were done. Under these circumstances, Caibao had no choice but to become a wage slave in the Hall of the God of Wealth... No, a wage-slave spirit. This is pure absurd comedy, just for fun. It’s expected to run between 200,000 and 300,000 words. From the God of Wealth’s perspective, what would he make of the way modern young people worship the gods?
