During the Republican era, two powerful families, the Du family and the Shen family, arrange a marriage between Du Lingfeng and Shen Peiya. At first, the two simply obey their parents’ wishes and the matchmaker’s arrangements. They treat each other with respect, but have no feelings for one another. As time passes, they go through a number of experiences together, and gradually fall in love. After becoming a couple, they face the challenges of starting a business, war across the country, and upheaval within their families. Their love grows stronger, and they both continue to mature.
