This book is detailed and rich in information, which gave me a deeper understanding of the Soviet-German War. Moreover, the author's writing is very expressive and it is very enjoyable to read. It reminds me of "War and Peace", which both describe the cruelty of war and the complexity of human nature. Zhukov's experience is also legendary. He grew from a poor shoemaker's son to a marshal of the Red Army. It is really amazing. I think this book is suitable for people who like history and war themes.
This book describes the situation in the first year of the war, giving people a preliminary impression of the successes and failures of both sides at the beginning of the war, and laying the foundation for continuing to understand the process of the subsequent war.
