This book belongs to the "Lu Xun of a Person" series and is a collection of Lu Xun's cultural essays about books. Lu Xun was not only a writer, translator, but also an editor. He compiled and published a large number of books throughout his life. He is well aware of the huge role books play in the progress of human society. This book is divided into four series: the first is the history of publishing, the history of books, and the history of reading; the second is the preface for other people's translations; the third is the preface for personal translations; the fourth is the discussion of reading experience, which fully embodies Lu Xun's liberal democratic thoughts. Especially in his later years, because he was under the censorship system of books and newspapers by the Kuomintang government, the books he wrote often broke through the limits of knowledge and highlighted the edge of resistance.
