I Heard You Miss Me

[Mutual Healing + Reunion After Years Apart + Rekindled Romance + Two Academic Prodigies]

No one knew that Chen Xingli, known as a genius among geniuses, hid deep insecurity and sensitivity beneath her cool exterior.

To her classmates, the academic star seemed unwilling to associate with ordinary people. Lu Xiang knew that her silence was just a protective shell.

Chen Xingli wondered why Lu Xiang always seemed to understand her so well. Only Lu Xiang knew that she had been paying attention to Chen Xingli since middle school, ever since they competed against each other in an academic contest.

Over time, that rivalry had slowly turned into something else.

One day, Lu Xiang said, “Chen Shanshan, I want us to be best friends for the rest of our lives.”

“Okay.”

Chen Xingli asked curiously, “Why do you always call me Chen Shanshan?”

Lu Xiang replied, “Because stars are meant to shine brightly.”

Her low, slightly husky voice sent ripples across the still depths of Chen Xingli’s heart.

Seven years later, a show featuring one top dancer after another set the internet abuzz.

The name that came up most in the discussions was Chen Xingli.

After they reunited, Lu Xiang had planned to mend their relationship little by little. But then a video of the genius dancer Chen Xingli performing with her senior went viral, and netizens started shipping the pair.

Seeing Lu Xiang looking hurt and aggrieved, Chen Xingli raised an eyebrow. “Weren’t we going to be best friends for life?”

Her voice was low and husky, thick with desire. “Who the hell wants to be your best friend? Chen Shanshan, I want to move into your heart and bolt myself in there for good.” There was a fierce edge to her words.

Chen Xingli blushed. … She had gone a little too far.
