"Seven Questions on Photographic Aesthetics" is a representative work of the famous photographer Ruan Yi Zhong. Together with "Contemporary Photography Masters" and "Contemporary Photography Emerging Talents", it is regarded as an enlightenment book on photography in the Chinese world. Photographer Ruan Yi Zhong, who is known as the "enlightener and evangelist of world photography in China", spent a year in the 1980s interviewing Chen Chuanxing, Han Baode and Huang Chunming. In the form of a collection of talks, he launched an in-depth discussion of the aesthetics of photography and explored the nature of photography and how photographers "see" and "feel". The three interviewees - Chen Chuanxing, a professor at Tsinghua University in Taiwan, Han Baode, a famous architect and architectural scientist, and Huang Chunming, a heavyweight novelist in Taiwan, are all photography "outsiders" and enjoy high reputations in their professional fields. Their opinions have broadened the cultural horizons of photography art and provided more accurate coordinates for photography's positioning on the human map. This book contains nearly 80 classic works by world photography masters, echoing the text content, and accompanied by picture descriptions written by Ruan Yi Zhong himself. It is the most vivid photography enlightenment book and a rare collection of photo albums.

This book is very interesting! It explores the aesthetics of photography through interviews, and the interviewees are all outside the photography circle, and their perspectives are unique and refreshing. The book also contains many classic works by photography masters, which are really inspiring when read together with the text. It reminds me of the book "On Photography". They both provide in-depth thinking on the art of photography. I really like this relaxed chat style of book review, it feels like sharing reading experience with friends. When it comes to favorite characters, I think Mr. Nguyen Dui Trung is a very interesting person. His photography and viewpoints are very unique.
Very good. The purpose of a photo is to describe what you want to express.
