Born with a Strange Mark

Heaven and earth are vast, and all living things cultivate beneath the boundless azure sky. Immortal sects stand in profusion, while demonic forces lurk in the shadows. A pact spanning destiny binds two souls, both fated for greatness.

Nangong Haoxuan was orphaned at a young age, but was taken in by the renowned Azure Dragon Academy. He carries the blood feud of his family’s destruction, and holds fast to a solemn promise he made to someone: “When I’ve achieved success, I’ll find you, and we’ll embark on the path to immortality together.” During his years at the academy, he thirstily absorbs the spiritual energy of heaven and earth and hones his martial arts and supernatural skills. From an obscure boy, he grows into one of the academy’s most promising students. Every time he swings his sword, every breakthrough he makes, is fueled by longing for his homeland and the fire of revenge. Once his wings are strong enough, he will return to his birthplace and wipe out his enemies.

Far away, in an unknown land, Qing Lengyue was born beneath strange celestial signs of stars and moon. A mysterious star-and-moon mark flickers on her brow, as if it holds the secrets of the cosmos. Neither demonic nor monstrous, the mark is regarded as a natural guide to the Dao, drawing in the purest starlight and moonlight between heaven and earth. By chance, she meets a reclusive master and learns a divine art long thought lost: the Secret Canon of the Star-Moon Cycle. Built around her star-and-moon mark, this technique lets her commune with the vast cosmos and absorb the essence of the sun and moon. The spiritual power she cultivates is pure and overwhelming, and she can wield all manner of wondrous, unfathomable arts that make heaven and earth change color. She, too, remembers the innocent promise she made to a boy to become Dao companions. Carrying the mysterious power of her star-and-moon mark, she sets out on a journey of cultivation and discovery.

The threads of fate will eventually draw them both to Azure Dragon Academy. Nangong Hao
