Love Curse of Miaojiang

To this day, stories of Gu magic are still passed down in the Miao villages of Yunnan and Guizhou.

Gu magic is a form of witchcraft. It is said that several venomous creatures, such as snakes and scorpions, are placed together in a vessel to devour and kill one another. The sole survivor is said to become the gu.

The practitioners who inherit gu magic are mostly women. They are supposedly born with the ability and make a living by taking people's lives.

In reality, however, gu magic is merely a tale grown in the telling. It has no such miraculous power.
