(I’ll probably divide this book into three parts: school, graduation, and work. So if you’ve seen the TV series or read the original, think of this as healing the regrets you were left with. If you haven’t, that’s fine too. Think of it as a new romance novel. I’ll start with their school days and explain how the characters are connected.)
The simple, honest Beijing girl Xie Qiao gets into Beiqing for the boy she secretly loves, Brother Xiao Chuan. As she gets to know her three roommates, she also ends up dating Yang Cheng, a rich young master, through a series of misunderstandings. The gap between their family backgrounds eventually leads to their breakup. The love lives of the others change as graduation approaches, and once they enter the workforce, they begin working toward their own goals. Through the trials of youth, they learn how to love, and their relationship gets a second chance.
(My ending is a happy one for everyone, to make up for the regrets in the original novel and TV series. I’m a beginner, so please bear with my writing. I just want to give the couples I love a happy ending. No matter how the story performs, I won’t abandon it.)
