If there were creatures more powerful than humans, humans might call them gods, and their attitude toward humans would not be friendly, but rather aggressive.
It seems that human society is peaceful, but maybe God has already attacked and played with stupid humans with malicious intent. It is possible that we are all living in an endless dream, as God's playthings.
Perhaps the content of the Cthulhu Mythos is not a false story, but a clue left by a certain god to add fun to the game and reward some humans for seeing the real and vicissitudes of the world.
