Reborn as Meng Yancheng's Mother

An Unresolved Heartache

Set in the world of the novel, though not faithful to its details. The story will also weave in elements from the TV series and elsewhere.

This is just my personal imagination, so don’t nitpick the details.

Fu Wenying woke one morning to discover she had been reborn. She would never forget what her son, Meng Yancheng, had once said: “Look at me, Mom. Look at my face. I’m your son. All these years, every day has been worse than death for me. Can’t you see? You can’t see it anymore.” Fu Wenying could no longer hold back her tears. She could only blame her own decisions for putting her child through so much pain.

Fu Wenying probably won’t have another child.

And she intends to find out who was plotting all this behind the scenes.

Is she a puppet in the author’s story? Are they just disposable characters, brought in to set things up for the so-called hero and heroine?
