You Have to Make Peace with Yourself Eventually

I know that life is about refusing to conform, so it doesn’t matter if not many people read this.

I also remember why I started writing this book.

I wanted to record my own journey of growth.

Maybe one day I’ll suddenly make peace with myself.

For me, that would be an immense stroke of luck.

It wouldn’t be light as a feather. It would be heavier than a mountain.

The end result doesn’t matter much to me, either.

As more people began reading, I didn’t feel happy so much as lucky.

Because I found you, the people whose souls resonate with mine.

We’re ordinary, yet extraordinary. We’re common, yet one of a kind.

And no one gets to decide what we should be like.

We should grow wild and run free beneath a sky full of sunshine.

We should leave all those constraints far behind.

We should give them the finger and say, “Screw you.”

“You don’t need to care about anything about me, because none of it was meant for you.”

I love everything about myself.

I’m going to live for myself.
