Roaming Freely with the Boy

I roamed free with the young man, sharing cups of wine;

I cursed my failure to master the immortals’ arts, then watched drunken sword shadows slash away my sorrows.

Once, I walked a lonely road with my beloved; at last, her red lips touched my brow.

A spring dream ended where the willows broke, as she took a treasure and traded it for wine.

The past is like the wind, and the past is also a lie. So be it. Since our fate is spent and there is no hope of staying together, let the pain remain as it was, and endure year after year. So be it.

This is my first novel. Feel free to offer corrections, but please don’t be harsh. If you have anything to say, leave a comment and let’s chat. Thank you, everyone.
