Beasts of Burden: Zheng

[Original protagonist] [Angst (everyone gets killed)] The following is a song

Deer are cute, rabbits are cute. I’m the least cute one in the world.

Spring comes and flowers bloom, and I’ll wait with hope. But you’ll never come back, come back.

What grudge, what hatred? His destruction has everything to do with me.

You say it’s because I’m hateful, but I just want to stay alive.

I’m a divine beast with mighty magic. I’ll sing a note, and you’ll fight for yourself.

I’m fate, come down upon this world. I’ll give you a sweet date, then you can draw your own.

I’m an evil beast, powerful and vile. I gather up the scraps scattered across this world.

La la la la la, in the name of evil, I’ll evolve the world.

Take up the divine artifact, pose in overwhelming, dazzling splendor. Swing!

You win, I die. You trample over my corpse again and again.

The immortals lack confidence. They make schemes and strategies their one and only thing, mistake that for victory, and victory for justice.

Excessive surveillance, possessiveness. Guard them, then abandon them. A victory where both sides lose, victory, victory.

He died in glory. His soul went to paradise or the underworld, but the rabbit was consumed by grief. I stayed here, singing.

I’m a nightmare, slipping through my own passages. I spy, through nights of joy and sorrow.

You’re an immortal, convinced your assumptions are true. Guess whose side your justice favors more.

I’m an evil beast, a red speck of blood. I sort through the chapters of time in this world.

La la la la la, beneath our memories, I watch my beloved fade away.

I’m a divine beast, fate, a nightmare.

A red speck of blood passing through the world.

Who are you, calling yourself an immortal?

I’m a divine beast with mighty magic. I’ll sing a note, and you’ll fight for yourself.

I’m fate, come down upon this world. I’ll give you a sweet date, then you can draw your own.

I can’t write any more.
