Synopsis:

General Wade returns to the Empire from a remote planet, bringing back a handsome young man.

The young man has no identity and remembers only that his name is Chi Yun. When his damaged spaceship was forced to land on the remote planet, he appeared beside Wade and helped him.

People without identities who have ended up far from home for various reasons are given a period of observation and education after being brought to the capital planet and registered. To thank him, to satisfy an inexplicable feeling, and to make sure he had no ulterior motives, Wade became his temporary guardian and helped him adjust to life in the interstellar world.

Wade thought the young man was beautiful and clever. His keen instincts also told him the man was hiding something. There was a hint of almost innocent cruelty about him, and sometimes being watched by him gave Wade a strange, chilling feeling.

As if something inhuman had its eyes on him.

Peace had reigned across the stars for hundreds of years, and war seemed like something from the distant past.

Only ancient books recorded that, long ago, the sky had been filled with the gleam of metal, along with the pincers and compound eyes of enormous creatures that had long since vanished.
