Wielding a Sword to Slay the Firmament

I once carved out the heavens, but beyond them there was still another sky.

I turned my body into mountains and rivers, protecting only a patch of blue sky.

I turned my eyes into the sun and moon, lighting a single flame.

That flame passed down through countless generations. Through it, I saw what the future held.

All living beings fought with everything they had, seeking to break free from their cage.

I gathered the flame into a blazing sun, hoping to light a candle stand.

But the candle stand rushed into the sun, and in the end, a fire blazed up to consume the heavens.

Through the dazzling light, I heard a distant echo:

“May I take your hand and touch the ‘truth’ of this world.”
