A brand-new work from the mega-influencer and history creator Chanshiguan, featuring over 400 educational comics that show you the power games behind the emperors.
Qin Shi Huang, Ying Zheng: He unified the realm, yet could not manage his own family.
Emperor Guangwu of Han, Liu Xiu: He served as Commander of the Imperial Guard, married Lihua, and a prophecy about the Son of Heaven spread across the realm.
Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin: He killed his brother and forced his father to give up the throne, then ushered in a golden age with the Reign of Zhenguan.
Emperor Gaozu of Later Jin, Shi Jingtang: Skilled in strategy and decorated with military victories, he earned infamy by seizing the throne.
With precise writing and humorous comics, this book explores twelve ancient emperors from both flattering and unflattering angles, bringing the course of history into clearer focus.
I particularly enjoyed Ying Zheng's story, his family life was really unexpected. This reminds me of the book "The Qin Empire", which also tells the history of Qin, but in a completely different style. However, both books gave me a more comprehensive understanding of Qin Shihuang. I recommend you check it out too!
Shovel Historian's book has rigorous logic, interesting content, and lively style. It is worth collecting!
