A Love Letter on Plain White Paper

Chen Kuang was a reckless, unruly troublemaker who hated getting involved in complications.

That was until the day he and Chu Zhi were both summoned to the office, and he discovered just how vulnerable she was.

After they started seeing each other often, Chu Zhi, whose father was dead and whose mother didn’t care about her, began clinging to Chen Kuang.

So she leaned close to his ear and pleaded, “Chen Kuang, protect me. I’ll repay you.”

He knew she was trouble, but his heart softened, and he agreed anyway.

When people asked, he said, “She’s a troublesome little kitten, clingy and always trying to get her way.”

“Most importantly, she sneaks kisses from me and then refuses to take responsibility.”

Chu Zhi was always sneaking kisses from him, then acting as if she’d done nothing wrong.

“What’s the big deal about one kiss? You’re an adult, so it’s not illegal for me to kiss you. Don’t act like I took advantage of you!”

Chen Kuang said angrily, “Chu Zhi, who taught you to be so domineering?”

She basked in his affection. “Can’t help it. Meeting you means I was born lucky.”

They never had a single argument during their senior year of high school, yet afterward, they ended up giving each other the cold shoulder for six years.

Chu Zhi left behind only a blank envelope before she went away.

Chen Kuang hadn’t looked for anyone else all those years.

When asked if there was anything he wanted to change about those years, he said, “I want to go back to September 30, 2013.”

“When Chu Zhi asked me to protect her, I want to turn her down.”

Chen Kuang was like a mountain, while Chu Zhi was like a flowing stream.
